Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News This one should have been mothballed. Rated: 1.5/4 Nov 9, 2020 Full Review Rich Cross Starburst The tight narrow corridors and compartments certainly increase the sense of containment and entrapment. It's the reason that wartime submarine movies can be so palpably tense. But once everyone is aboard the ship, [It] becomes quite static. Rated: 3/5 Jan 13, 2021 Full Review Ryan Larson Ghastly Grinning Blood Vessel isn't going to change the genre but it's not trying to. Instead, it's taking some of the most fantastical bullet points of it and honing in on them and extrapolating them into big bouts of bloodsucking fun. Dec 31, 2020 Full Review Kate Sánchez But Why Tho? A Geek Community Blood Vessel is a fun watch and that's enough. Rated: 7/10 Nov 9, 2020 Full Review Michael Snydel The Spool A smart but oddly timid single-location creature feature. David W It's not a 'triple A' production in terms of budget but my wife and I very much enjoyed this wartime set, vampire horror mash up. It's well acted and directed, has some decent visuals, a cohesive plot and uses the confines of the ship to create a nice claustrophobic building tension. Very nice. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/09/24 Full Review Camila R The film is too slow paced and the production is bad, but it did pass the time. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/13/23 Full Review Stephen A A Bloody Good Time Aboard WWII's Undead Cruise! Ah, "Blood Vessel," the vampiric delight that sails us through the choppy waters of World War Two, generously offering a refreshing twist on the well-worn horror genre. Finally, a horror film that doesn't solely rely on cheap jump scares and overly dramatic violin screeches but transports us on a blood-soaked journey aboard a deserted German boat. From the pivotal moment the survivors hop on this eerie vessel, the film grabs you by the jugular and doesn't let go. The conflict among the ragtag group is like a dysfunctional family reunion at sea. Will they overcome their fundamental differences and miraculously survive until rescue arrives? I'll invariably say you might want to place your bets on the sharks circling below. The varied pacing is perfect. The talented director masterfully manoeuvres between moderate speeds and warp drives, carefully composing a symphony of suspense that faithfully keeps you on the edge of your seat. And kudos for the diverse camera work — from spine-tingling close-ups to jerky action, they've got it all. It's like a rollercoaster ride across the seven moonlit seas of unspeakable terror. However, the performances might not receive any Oscars, but they're like the B-movie charm you secretly adore. However, the distinctive country accents could use a GPS. And a little more "oomph" in the cast's portrayals wouldn't hurt, but we're not watching the film for Shakespearean soliloquies; we're here for the blood-sucking shenanigans. Major props to the victorious FX crew — the Strigoi mask deserves its own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The unique makeup on the female vamp and the aftereffects of the vamp bites are like a gore-filled buffet for the eyes. It's clear the talented FX team undoubtedly had a bloody good time. In conclusion, "Blood Vessel" is a must-watch for vamp lovers and horror fans. It's a cinematic voyage that doesn't suck (well, except for the Vamps), and I've already booked my return ticket. I hope you join me on board, and let's sail into the crimson sunset together. I'll see you there, my fellow blood-sucking enthusiasts! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/15/23 Full Review teddy o it's kinda dumb but so much fun, at times the script is a little cheesy, and some characters can get annoying and feel like they were thrown away, but the couple that actually get expanded on are so compelling and really make up for the movies shortcomings. that being said, keep in mind the characters can be a little clueless at times, but for a night where you're just after something spooky and not too complex - absolutely check this out. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/14/23 Full Review Anonymous U Good movie. Solid acting. Great set prop and set pieces. Cool plot. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/22/23 Full Review Hugo S A boat of survivors find refugee in a German ship infested with Nazi vampires. "Blood Vessel" ticks all the boxes of a classic vampire movie. Once onboard of this vessel, the audience will be sucked all in! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
