Ed Travis Hollywood Jesus ...this film is a genuine crowd pleaser and an all around pleasure to recommend to just about any audience. Apr 1, 2020 Full Review Grant Watson Fiction Machine This is a nicely enjoyable family-oriented movie - and for bakery enthusiasts it is something of a minor delight Rated: 7/10 Sep 16, 2019 Full Review Eugene Novikov Film Blather But while the American version of this story might have involved Kevin James and a lot of farting, this justly acclaimed Japanese family film is magical and totally unexpected. Audience Member This is a great film! Film snobs aside, kids will love this film tracing the time-traveling samurai teaching the modern boy discipline. This film was made for kids, but I loved it as an adult too. This is how I reviewed it when I first saw it in 2011... The greatest kids film since the original "Karate Kid" is Japanese film "A Boy and His Samurai". It is fun, funny, and (I hate to say it) heartwarming with some life lessons along the way. I expect it will be the first foreign subtitled film my brood of nephews, niece, and young cousins will see, as soon as it comes out on DVD. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Trite time-travel story of a 19th-century samurai transported to modern Tokyo, and taken in by a simple mom and her 6-year old. The pattiserrie bent was interesting though, as were his kitchen/knifing antics. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member There's much to like in this movie set on an unlikely premise. I loved the ending and the loyalty of our samurai pastry chef. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Perfect warm hearted fun film that at times can pull your heart strings. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member AKA "A boy and his Samurai," this movie is a really cute crowd pleaser Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member The storyline is somewhat cheezy, but it makes for a good movie. Ryo Nishikido plays a pretty good samurai. The best part of the movie was seeing all the delicious looking desserts. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews
