Matt Brunson Film Frenzy One of the gloppiest movies ever made. Rated: 1.5/4 Oct 29, 2024 Full Review Scott Weinberg FEARnet A nastier, sillier, cheaper version of Alien -- but the blu-ray is great! Antoine T Vous prenez Alien et The Thing, vous enlevez le charisme et vous rajoutez des nichons Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/25 Full Review nick s You want to root for this as it looks like a passion project. But there's only so much leeway you can give a work of this quality. The plot isn't inspired by Alien, it is Alien. Only its the clumsy student version. The director throws some bewbs in there in the hope we'll take it seriously. Everything is derivative. You can see inspiration from Star Wars and Battle Star Galactica. There's just nothing original. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/11/25 Full Review Andy B Can you blame someone for wanting to rip off Alien? Its successful blend of horror, sci-fi and tension, combined with an inspired creature design and atmospheric sets make it still work nearly 50 years later. And a strong leading woman, to boot. So let’s ignore all that, use much the same plot and make sure there are lots of breasts. As far as the plot is concerned, we’ll get the action moving along by having the characters make really stupid decisions. (E.g. why don’t we go and talk to the monster without weapons and while wearing short dressing gowns?). There is also a sex scene oddly crosscut with the monster bloodily taking out another victim. A very odd directorial choice. This has the potential to be a great comedy - the scientist with the constantly blood spattered lab coat is just dying for a running set of jokes. But instead it is played with po-faced seriousness, made all the more ridiculous by the pseudo-science they are spouting. And the special effects are also dire. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/26/24 Full Review Sam G An absolute insult to intelligence. If you want to watch boobs, go to a real porn outlet. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/18/24 Full Review Jesse C Cheesy but charming. A classic of the Sci Fi Space Horror genre but lacking the tone, drama, suspense, and overall gravitas of icons like Alien. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/26/22 Full Review Audience Member This gory, sorry excuse of an abortion was a waste of dollars, which could have been better spent on helping Ukrainian refugees, or on cleaning up the streets of Seattle. A disappointment, which I started to feel soon after the beginning. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
