Synopsis
On a summer morning in 1958, photographer Art Kane assembled a remarkable array of leading jazz musicians in New York City's Harlem neighborhood for a group picture. This acclaimed documentary explores the story behind the photograph's creation, featuring interviews with some of the featured performers, who include Dizzy Gillespie, Sonny Rollins, Art Blakey, Hank Jones and Milt Hinton. The film is enhanced by footage taken by Hinton himself, who was also an accomplished photographer.
