Jeff M 02/11/2024 I defy you to find me a worse performance than Richard Thomas in this TV movie. When I saw the description of John Boy Walton himself stalking former Calvin Klein jeans model Brooke Shields as an engineer in Silicon Valley, I knew the results probably weren't going to be pretty. But I wasn't prepared for the sheer ineptitude in every possible way. And the fact that it's based on a true story makes it nearly impossible to enjoy in a so-bad-it's-good mentality, although I have to admit there are moments of such atrocity that I did experience a moment or two of bad movie glee. I know I picked on Thomas up front, but the acting in the whole movie is shockingly bad, almost like something you'd see in a work training video. And after recent events, watching Thomas walk into a gun store, buy an arsenal of guns and ammunition and shoot up an office building for what felt like hours left a really bad taste in my mouth. I really wanted to relish all the ineptitude but, like I said, when you realize this actually happened, it just didn't feel right. The victims deserved better. A schlocky movie is a schlocky movie, whether or not you put "based on a true story" before the opening credits.
