You guys have no idea how excited I was to see a chupacabra movie, and all they gave me was one of the mole-men from The Descent with an extra long tongue. What a rip-off. Go to Full Review

Kris T @RT26407207 4d Indigenous feels like a horror movie assembled from a "Greatest Hits of Bad Decisions" playlist. You’ve got clueless tourists ignoring obvious warnings, a shaky camera doing cardio, and a plot that screams "I’ve seen this before" every five minutes. If clichés were currency, this film could fund a small country. The acting doesn’t exactly save the day either—it’s less "terrified for our lives" and more "mildly inconvenienced on vacation." Emotional scenes land with all the impact of a damp tortilla, and the dialogue often sounds like it was improvised during a group panic… badly. There are moments where it almost stumbles into something interesting, but then it quickly remembers it has a checklist of tropes to complete. In the end, Indigenous is less spine-chilling horror and more accidental comedy—with a side of questionable life choices. See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Dec 27 Indigenous is a watchable indie horror film that balances tension with modest production values. The story follows six young adults facing a mysterious creature in a remote setting. While the screenplay has pacing issues and uneven character development, the film avoids overexposing the monster, building suspense effectively. The cast delivers solid performances: the female leads are convincing in their fear and resourcefulness, and the male actors provide consistent energy. Cinematography captures the isolated environment well, adding to the tension, though budget constraints sometimes undercut scares. The direction and editing are competent, keeping the story flowing, but familiar horror tropes make some moments predictable. Overall, Indigenous isn’t a masterpiece, but it’s engaging enough for indie horror fans, offering suspense, credible acting, and an enjoyable, if slightly cheesy, creature feature experience. See more Alec B @AlecMichaelB Oct 23 Indigenous serves up some decent jungle scares but it remains stuck in its B-movie roots. The setup: a group of tourists venturing too far into the Panamanian rainforest…it has promise, yet the script leans too heavily on clichés and predictable jump scares. While the creature design is intriguing and the setting delivers something fresh in the horror genre, flat performances and thin, stereotyped characterization leave the it feeling like a missed opportunity. A decent watch for monster-movie enthusiasts, but don’t expect much depth beyond the canopy. See more Courtney K @c0urtn3y 08/15/2021 DNF - go watch The Descent instead.
