It's been 10 years since Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) walked away from the agency that trained him to become a deadly weapon. Hoping to draw him out of the shadows, CIA director Robert Dewey assigns hacker and counterinsurgency expert Heather Lee to find him. Lee suspects that former operative Nicky Parsons is also looking for him. As she begins tracking the duo, Bourne finds himself back in action battling a sinister network that utilizes terror and technology to maintain unchecked power.

Much of Jason Bourne consists of grim action set pieces interspersed with long sequences of people sitting in front of computer screens. Somehow the movie is simultaneously frenetic and static, going nowhere really, really fast.

The other reviews have covered pretty much the flaws of the film. I want to point out another thing that was extremely annoying. It is a multimillion budget film, with great actors. Was it unbearably hard for the producers and the director to make a minimum research (really a Google search at least) on how Greece and Greeks look like? The Greek - Albanian borders are in Pindos mountain range, so the landscape is forests and mountains and not middle east desert. Also Greeks don't look like Arabs or Pakistanis. Albanians either. I mean Matt Damon is all the time in Greece, did it look like Syria? It is embarrassing and offending when Americans distort other people's culture, history and as in here even their very existence

Forgettable. A film where the director thought bigger meant better, but it actually results in being a bland cluttered mess. The huge amount of explosions makes each one no longer matter. Tension is replaced with action. Moments of reflection replaced with...more action. The characters do stupid decisions for the sake of action. two spies trained to operate exclusively in the shadows decide to have an extremely public car fight (not chase, fight) in the middle of the LA strip. Every character seems to have a deep, personal relationship to every other character for... reasons? Overall just a bad film.

If it was "just another action" movie you might forgive its lack of plot and rather pedestrian nature but it DEMANDS that you know Bourne's back history and so makes comparisons with the original trilogy inevitable - and it's as aimless as they were direct and as flabby as they were taut.
