Andy F Fabulous but even at 3 hours long this film feels rushed. Such a multiplicity of characters and endless scenes of French people uprising! When it slows down it's brilliant. As great as this is the second half is better. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Tony S You can really see the budget behind this movie, in both great assembly cast, amazing soundtrack and the production design. This two-parter presents to simplistic takes on the events of French Revolution, providing just glimpses into the most famous characters of the era, before and during the Great Terror. Brisk pacing, undoubtedly is there for easier digestion, and one historical event or scene goes after another, with no real time to breathe. I get that cramming the entire revolution into 5 hours is a daunting task but I however doubt that people who weren't interested to begin with will watch the whole thing. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/21/21 Full Review Audience Member This epic is a terrific find for the historic movie buff, plus Jane Seymour delivers a superb performance as Marie Antoinette.
