Scott Campbell We Got This Covered Brutal throwback thriller 'Little Dixie' has no airs or graces about what it is or what it wants to be, and that's exactly why it hits the spot. Rated: 3/5 Feb 23, 2023 Full Review Mark McPherson Film Inquiry Little Dixie has little moments of thrill amid a sufficient yet standard crime story Feb 18, 2023 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue Some gritty visual flourishes and mild sociopolitical intrigue can’t overcome the assembly-line plotting. But at least our hero is always impeccably dressed. Feb 15, 2023 Full Review Asher Luberto The Playlist Little Dixie is as efficient, gritty and messy at its lead character, which is a good thing, since no one wants their B-movies to look as polished as their A-list fare. Rated: C+ Feb 10, 2023 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Common Sense Media Although most of this crime drama is so familiar as to be tired, the filmmakers nonetheless take a little extra time to develop a strange, gritty atmosphere that elevates the movie above the average. Rated: 3/5 Feb 8, 2023 Full Review Jonathon Wilson Ready Steady Cut Little Dixie is an action thriller from writer-director – and frequent Grillo collaborator – John Swab, who loves his lead so much that he forgets to remotely imperil him throughout the entire movie. Kashgar A I’m going to go against the grain here and say that I loved it. Excellent characterisation of minor characters, good music score, subtle humour, tight writing. All in all a real step above the usual. Frank Grillo did good. I’d even watch it again. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/27/24 Full Review Lloyd S I learned a new insult, calling mexicans "potato" lmao Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/02/24 Full Review Giorgio G We all know that Frank Grillo mainly acts in B-movies and this one is no exception. But one needs to say that the script isn't so bad and the action scenes are quite decent. But one thing, which is absolutely unacceptable, is the fact that after chopping off a man's head with a chainsaw, with the whole bathroom covered in blood, and later on countless hand to hand shootouts, some wrestling and boxing with his opponents, etc., there is only one tiny speck of blood on his otherwise clean shirt. Pleaaaaaaase!! That is definitely the director's fault as he surely thought that all spectators are morons. 3 1/2 of 10 points. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/24 Full Review Gareth M Just ridiculous in the sense of 1) how come drug dealers are always surprised when the SWAT team comes through the door - don't they have lookouts? 2) Frank goes to the senators house to kill him, kills all his people and then takes his head. So, no cameras then? Franks not worried about finger prints or his dna? On top of that he puts a fresh head in a leather bag which surprise, surprise drips blood! Derrrr uses carrier bag after he kills an innocent. Bloody rubbish. Stupid childish mistakes detract from the story Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/11/23 Full Review Mekail R Average watch. Predictable. Leaning on Frank to promote and carry the movie. I do appreciate alterations in plot however the flatness continues. Was worth a watch for a Saturday morning but you can use the bathroom.in between and not miss anything. Hugs Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/07/23 Full Review Some G The movie has good tension and some good performances. As others have said it's extremely violent. Moreover, the protagonist is sent on a mission that makes him completely irredeemable. The movie is also comically (and counterintuitively) woke which is distracting. Overall though, if you like action movies involving cartel violence, this is entertaining enough. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews
