This movie has stunning visuals to the point you could watch it solely for the animation and an imaginative fantasy world that has interesting view but it was borderline ruined by the horrible script, bland character's, annoying comic relief and a whole bunch of other things. The biggest issue is that the movie is way too short to do any of these things, 84 minutes doesn't do this movie justice the plot is fairly basic but 84 minutes is way too short and the pacing is horrible as a result, this movie was one of my absolute childhood favourites but looking back the characters are pretty much forced into generic roles; awkward boy who proves himself, smart girl who only exists to be the love interest, the dumb jock and the villain is literally a worse version of Te-ka from moana and I hate that because with just a bit more time and a better script the world and the characters would've been so much more fleshed out. With that being said let me say some good stuff about the film. Its almost perfect for kids as the plot isn't too difficult to understand, the characters may be generic but are still somewhat appealing and relatable.
