Homeless and orphaned, Sikandar (Amitabh Bachchan) rarely finds compassion on the mean streets of India, as he lives one day to the next doing whatever he can to survive. When he finds work at the house of the wealthy Ramanath (Shreeram Lagoo), Sikandar quickly falls for his employer's daughter, Kaamna (Rakhee Gulzar). Of course, Sikandar has little chance of realizing his love due to their class differences, but as the years go by, Sikandar rises from his once-lowly station in life.

12/26/2010 Another brilliant movie from Prakash Mehra. The show is stolen by Amitabh Bachchan as often. See more 08/04/2008 Love this movie......super songs...super performances,,,watch!!!!!!1 See more 06/07/2008 Movie is ok , but the songs are too gr8 ever made. See more 05/10/2008 A great adult-love drama, with the undeniably sexy chemistry between Amitabh and Rekha. Rakhee and Vinod also did a great job acting. Disturbingly, Bachchan's stalker-pursuing attitude for Rakhee is thinly disguised as pure love obsession. However, the film's songs are the best features of the entire show, pure melody classics such as "Salaam-E-Ishq" a delectable Mujra exquisitely performed by Rekha; "Pyar Zindagi Hai" my personal favourite song; "O Saathi Re" definitely the best song of all. The film's climax/conclusion was a totally depressing let-down affair, which I didn't like at all. See more 04/14/2008 I really like the song....O saathi re..!!! See more 03/12/2008 What a story. This is the most suffering-filled Bollywood film I've seen to date, which is saying a lot. Love it. Rekha and Amitabh are wonderful, as always. See more Read all reviews
