What to Know

Critics Consensus

Paul, Apostle of Christ proves a well-intentioned yet disappointingly diffuse interpretation of a Bible story whose flashes of potential never come close to living up to the source material.

A somber, moving portrait of one of the early church's most significant figures, who led the way at a time when Christians were being burned alive in the streets of Rome, or condemned to death in the arena. Go to Full Review

Largely devoid of sensationalism, a film that delves quietly into substantive issues of belief and forgiveness. Go to Full Review

Fails to fully develop the stakes at hand, but it features more thoughtful world-building than most faith-based films, as well as a bracing honesty about the difficulty of reconciling idealistic credos with a harsh and unforgiving world. Go to Full Review

Scott R @ScottR Nov 25 Almost good. Just the cliches and over the top drama / suffering came across as contrived. It did have some good moments and felt like a good period piece, but it still fell short. Saw on VUDU. See more Joshua H @JoshuaHawes Oct 18 This was a very movie film to watch. It was able to effectively the horrors of Christian persecution within that time period (although this is sadly an issue today on many countries). This was also a very effective portrayal of the life of Paul tge journey has been as person but this movie also uses Paul story to highlight the incredible Grace & Forgiveness we receive when we put our faith in Jesus. So yeah overall, a really good movie. See more Eric G Jun 23 I love it ! Call me a cult follower because I could watch it over and over again ! This is an amazing film and I am shocked that I have never seen it. It was beautiful and brilliant and I bawled like a baby at the end. Paul was an amazing disciple of Christ and his letters are read constantly as part of the mass. This has made me get my bible and begin reading Acts, See more Wendel L @BRZRKR 12/03/2024 Direção: Ok Atuação: Bom Roteiro: Bom Caracterização: Bom Soundtrack: Ok See more Eric T 06/26/2024 Christian movies are never going to be 100% accurate so that's always an expectation before hand. I must say this movie had me engaged from start to finish. Even though we know how the story ends, it's still disappointing to see the loss of life, Paul's and the other prisoners in such a gruesome fashion. See more Read all reviews
