J. R. Jones Chicago Reader This may be a long haul for the less anthropologically inclined, but it offers a persistent and compelling critique of our romantic notions of the third world. Aug 2, 2022 Full Review Dallas Morning News Rated: B+ May 28, 2007 Full Review Nancy Churnin Dallas Morning News For audiences who only know lions through animated imitations or the bars of a zoo, this film commands respect for these magnificent creatures in the wild, whether plotting, nurturing, roaring, resting or leaping and snatching an antelope high in the air. Rated: B+ Mar 9, 2007 Full Review Mark Halverson Sacramento News & Review Rated: 4/5 Apr 4, 2011 Full Review Ross Anthony Hollywood Report Card Impressively filmed with good action, a compellingly dramatic story line with simply great lion shots, Roar is improved with the added dimension. Rated: 3.5/4 Oct 18, 2007 Full Review Jim Lane Sacramento News & Review The 3-D effects are impressive...but hardly necessary; Liversedge's film is strong enough even without them... Audience Member Some very good wildlife footage, but I still prefer to see IMAX movies shot in space. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Watched it on an IMAX screen and felt that it really was undeserving to be in 3D. I couldn't really notice any of the animals coming out of the screen. It would have been better if it was displayed normally. The 3D didn't add to it whatsoever. I've seen so many shows of lions in the wild that this film didn't really affect me at all. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Very interesting! It was definitely neat to see the lions on the huge IMAX screen. The music was cheesy but so fitting, too. A nice little package in 40 minutes. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member absolutely fabulous IMAX picture! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Docu-film about lions...Saw this at the IMAX in London - brilliant experience, def worth paying the extra few quid!! And remember "if you feel overwhelmed just close your eyes and when you open them again the scene will have changed" lol Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member My first Imax experience, nothing new in the film but some of the slo mo stuff was great.
