Audience Member Good western here thank you’ll like it James Welch, Henderson, Arkansas January 19, 2023 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/20/23 Full Review Audience Member A surprisingly decent Tim Holt wester than is less corny than most of his films. Holt is such a good actor in smart films like "Treasure of the Sierra Madre" and "The Magnificent Ambersons" it's disappointing that he spent most of his career making low budget, low quality westerns. However, Holt was extremely popular as a western star, so I'm sure making these popular cheap films was quite profitable and I probably can't fault him for it. In this film Holt stops some cattle rustlers, blah, blah, blah, but most interestingly the female lead in the film is Dorothy Malone. Malone gives a real stand out performance and brings a real sex appeal that's quite adult compared to most of Holt's B-westersn, which seem to usually have been geared towards kids. It's kind of fun to see Malone in a pre-platinum blonde appearance before she really broke out in Douglas Sirk's "Written on the Wind" give years later.
