Derek Adams Time Out Although a little slow to get started, this better-than-average horror movie makes excellent use of its creepily-lit monsters, is reasonably well put together, and features some stomach-turning grisliness. Feb 9, 2006 Full Review Nicholas Bell IONCINEMA.com Rather forgettable, unless you're a die hard aficionado of late 80's horror obscurities, Scarecrows feels stuffed the same sawdust as its titular effigies. Rated: 1.5/5 Oct 27, 2020 Full Review Emma Wolfe SpookyAstronauts I was interested in it but is it a good film? No. Rated: 4/10 Oct 13, 2020 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins The gore effects are impressive, even when most of the creature designs by Norman Cabrera involve men in tattered costumes. Rated: 6/10 Sep 7, 2020 Full Review Mattie Lucas From the Front Row Short, fast paced, and perhaps most disquieting of all, doesn't go out of its way to explain itself and the origins of its demonic scarecrows, which make them all the more terrifying. Rated: 3/4 Aug 7, 2019 Full Review Ed Travis Cinapse the completed film plays out its wacky concept in such a perfunctory way, it feels like a slog while actually clocking in at a brisk 83 minutes. Jay H The atmosphere in this movie is truly chilling. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/09/24 Full Review TiffyBeSoRandom M I'm not sure if the budget held it back or what? Bert for the first couple of minutes only has dialogue in his head which was weird when everyone else spoke out loud. Speaking of dialogue it was very cringy. I can't tell where anyone is and how much time has passed. So much time could pass by before I realized what the movie was trying to portray. The chemistry between the cast is bad but I will say the scarecrows actually looked scary and well designed, not generic. Something that really bothered me about this movie was how out of order it felt. Like how all men jump out of a plane leaving one of their allies in said plane which doesn't make sense since they'll have to land it just a few minutes later so why split up? It literally served no purpose. Later on when they are still looking for Bert they casual take their time walking around in the field when they discover a dead body I thought it was Bert's but later on Roxanne (the one they left in the plane but they caught up) says she saw Bert in front of her alive so who was the dead body? Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/14/23 Full Review justin t "If I were a crow I'd be somewhere else." I wanted to like this so much. I had wanted to see it for a long time and really thought that it would be a great little horror movie. The first thing that I noticed was that the film looked poo. It had all the technical problems with VHS and DVD. So basically it looked bad. If the picture and sound were a better quality then I might have enjoyed it more. Ignoring the technical quality I would still have to say that this is not a great film. I thought that it would be scary and it rarely was. It all looked very amateurish but that could have been ignored if it shined and it didn't. Comparing it to the most recent horror film I saw, Shrooms (2006), this had the originality vote but Shrooms had the quality of production vote and neither amounted to anything good but this gets a better score because it was something different and that is more important. It lacked flair but was bad and that made it good. Not scary like it should have been. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Cruelly bad, and badly cruel. Althrough I did laugh out loud once or twice, so there's that. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Sadly Scarecrows, is a scary and gory movie but it's boring and really not a whole lot terrifying that the movie is just not as as scary than anticipated. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member A unique, and creepy film. This film proves that not everything needs to be explained in order for it to be a great horror film. The plot and storyline itself is very unique and original, unlike anything I've ever seen before. It has some good performances, great atmosphere, and some truly disturbing antagonists.
