Audience Member Like "Divide and Conquer", this is a less interesting entry in Frank Capra's World War II propaganda series of films, "Why We Fight". This focuses more on Japan's attempts to invade and take over China, as their first step toward world domination, and shows how when the tide turned against Japan in this effort, they decided to shift gears and attack America earlier than initially planned, and ends with Pearl Harbor. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't know whether it's a lack of greater knowledge of the context of the Chinese theatre of war, or something else, but this entry just feels limp in comparison to others. I was fairly bored throughout, and some elements, such as the Burma shenanigans, felt skimmed over. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Frank Capra's expert direction lifts this World War II documentary well above average. It's a fascinating historical film. Excellent and always interesting. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
