Justin Lowe The Hollywood Reporter Azzopardi's physical demeanor effectively conveys the fisherman's confusion and desperation, but the lack of any clear narrative resolution lends scant significance to the role. Oct 30, 2018 Full Review Kimberley Elizabeth Nightmare on Film Street The Boat isn't for everyone. It doesn't have any huge reveals, or ghastly spectral encounters. It's Christine without George Thorogood, The Shining if the only thing haunting Jack Torrance was the endless snow. Rated: 6/10 Apr 9, 2019 Full Review Preston Barta Denton Record-Chronicle The Boat is a beautifully shot, well performed, and sharply edited thriller. It sails into uncharted territory and proves to be one of the year's best surprises. Hold fast! Rated: 4/5 Mar 30, 2019 Full Review Paula Fleri-Soler Times of Malta It is to the Azzopardis' credit that they maintain the aura of mystery until the very end, but one cannot help but ask the question: are they already thinking of The Return of The Boat? Rated: 4/5 Mar 2, 2019 Full Review Nikki Baughan Screen International As the only man on screen, and with minimal dialogue, Joe Azzopardi commands attention from the off. Oct 31, 2018 Full Review Trace Thurman Bloody Disgusting The Boat is never boring; and that is saying something for a film that includes a 30-minute sequence where the protagonist is locked in a bathroom. Andrew V This is a really bad movie. It could have been good. It starts out intriguing and well shot, but then it just takes a turn at one point and never really recovered for me. If you watched the episode of It's Always Sunny where Frank takes acid and get stuck in a bathroom and thought to yourself "wow, I would love a whole movie of this" than this is the film for you. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/09/24 Full Review Sebastian G I've rarely felt so tense during a movie, all over my body. A big lump in the stomach for long stretches and no more breathing to speak of. At one point I got goose bumps that ran up the back of my neck. If you like that kind of thing, you've come to the right place. A small, great gem, extremely reduced in form, excellently acted. The camera is very close to the action, sucks you in, the music is not too overdone, but it's really mean, and the sounds are simply mind-blowing. This is no run-of-the-mill product, someone has really dared to do something here - and won. The rating curve with pronounced extremes shows: You'll probably love or hate this piece of work. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/16/24 Full Review Jack H I'd rather be adrift in real life during a storm than watch this again. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/22/24 Full Review Ricardo d É um bom filme, passa o tempo. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/28/24 Full Review L S Really good thriller using all the paranoia and utter terror of wide open sea. Confidently marches through it all, well worth a go.
