Audience Member I loved this movie. The three different stories with the same actors gives a different type of feeling towards the movie. Besides the story the place where this was shot is very nostalgic and comforting, also most of the times it's just quite which I love! Must see this movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/02/24 Full Review Audience Member Three stories about forbidden love, taking place during different years in (ex-) Yugoslavia. The first two parts are excellent. Shocking as much as they are beautiful with powerful scenes that will get stuck in your mind for a long time. The final part is quite mediocre unfortunately but the film is still a must-see. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Sat at bordering Balkan villages showing the long history of inter-ethnic hatred. While focusing on love there are so much more going on here. The first part is sat in 1991. There is some sort of war going on or there is one to come real soon. Two lovers tries to stay togheter, but they are met with hate from most angles. The second part is sat in 2001. There's no war here, but it looks like there has been something going on in the area earlier on. A mother and her grown daughter is trying to get a bad stated house improved and they are getting help from an earlier "enemy". The third part is sat in 2011. A man is returning to earlier areas. He is visiting his parents, he's partying but most importantly he is looking for his earlier love that he has left behind years ago. All stories have the same two lead actors. All of them include a lot of crying and some underwater scenes. The camera work is brilliant and the stories are supported by great acting. I like the first part the most, but all of them got strong features. The stories are solid, and they never drag out. The total playtime of two hours is still a bit long, there is not to much change going on in the individual stories. I don't know enough about the history to really get into it, but I fear it would be harder to enjoy the film than it was. Some great moments, like the ravescene and some great nature shots. Great both production and story wise, nice sound design and powerful performances lifts it, but the three stories also lack a tiny bit of variation. 7 out of 10 raves. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member I absolutely loved this movie. The way the same actors play different roles with similar conflicts in different moments in history make you live each story with sort of an emotional background added by mere association of the actors and the previous stories. Very interesting.
