In THE SUBTLE ART OF NOT GIVING A F*CK, the human journey is explored. Happiness comes not from a pill, a nice car, more money or being better looking. True joy, the author tells us, is found in achievement; in the journey of life itself. In this feature documentary adaptation, we will bring this incredibly successful book to the screen with an engaging, thought provoking and entertaining journey into modern life. And in doing so we will allow our audience to take away from the theatre the powerful message that has caught on worldwide. How not to give a f*ck about that which doesn't matter, and how to love that which does.

Linda Marric The Jewish Chronicle While I have very little doubt that Mason’s philosophy on screen is likely to prove as helpful as his best-selling tome, there is something about Price’s film that just feels too stunted to fully function as a bona fide adaptation of the book. Rated: 3/5 May 12, 2023 Full Review Ty Burr Ty Burr's Watch List (Substack) Price’s approach is to sit author Mason down in what looks like a darkened afternoon bar and essentially talk his book at us, abetted by a lot of dramatic reenactments and spiffy animation. Rated: 2/4 Jan 13, 2023 Full Review Ben Kenigsberg New York Times If “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a #@%!” helps people, its deficiencies as a movie don’t matter much. Jan 4, 2023 Full Review Joseph Tomastik Loud and Clear Reviews Manson explains throughout The Subtle Art of Not Giving a #@%! why it’s not only okay to not always be happy or perfect, but why it’s usually good. Rated: 3.5/5 Nov 20, 2024 Full Review Erick Massoto Collider The Subtle Art of Not Giving a #@%! comes off as a lecture that doesn’t really give a fuck about how Manson’s worldview and experiences can find a footing in other realities different from his. Rated: D- Jan 11, 2023 Full Review Graeme Tuckett Stuff.co.nz The Subtle Art -- the film -- is a brisk, often very funny and always likeable trip through the key points of the book. Patrick M The only thing I learned to not give an f- about is this horrid movie, and it took less than ten minutes. How this obnoxious, clueless charlatan got a book deal is beyond me. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/22/23 Full Review Dan R Based on the book of the same name 'The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck!' dropped into Netflix in 2023. SYNOPSIS: 'Filled with ruthless humour and entertaining stories, bestselling author Mark Manson reveals his counterintuitive approach to living a good life.' I really disliked this film. The film came off as a pompous lecture from Manson who himself came across as an arrogant prick. The director's approach to sit Mason down in what looks like a darkened afternoon bar and essentially talk his book at us just doesn't work. And the 'dramatic' reenactments and spiffy animation are incredibly cringey. Avoid at all costs. I didn't give a Fuck about this. 2/10 Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/25/23 Full Review Pauline W While the message is pertinent ie take responsibility and focus on what's important ( ie don't give a damn about possessions, other peoples opinions and focus instead on people, experiences etc) that could have been distilled into a pithy ten minute piece. Instead this is basically an overly long autobiographical interview. The narrator has you wishing that he wasn't wearing the harness and would just walk off the cliff to end the overly long story which might not have happened were it only ten minutes in length. Not every book can make a movie Netflix. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/31/23 Full Review Jack S Disappointing. Had a few people recommend this to me and I really wanted to like it. I'm quite a deep analytical thinker so was hoping this would tap into this but it was basically an hour and 40 minutes of him talking about his own life and making a few obvious points that have been talked about for years, just in a slightly different way. It didn't flow very well. You could fast forward to the last 5 minutes to get a summary. I'm sure there's people out there who it does help but what he talks about isn't groundbreaking and it feels a bit false that he's made so much money by taking rubbish. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/30/23 Full Review Nate C Thought it was an extremely thought-provoking and meaningful movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/21/23 Full Review Connor M Turned it off halfway through and I never do that ever.I was expeciting something with a more optimistic and funnier view. That dude sounded really depressed. Sounded like a privileged middle class pompos toff who had his jammys and weetabix served up to him until he was 30 and gets his pants changed by someone else. Common sense if you have a realistic perspective on life. A set up money making film by Netflix. Big bunch of balls:) Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
