Audience Member Horrendously bad and without any redeeming qualities. The acting is shallow, immature, and just plain bad, the storyline is choppy and poor, and it somehow makes Malibu look like ugly and dull. To say this is an homage to Wuthering Heights is offensive because besides the names this movie has nothing of the passion of its source material. If you want a modern retelling watch Sparkhouse by the BBC it is infinitely better. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie was so dumb, and so painful to watch. The acting is horrible, especially from the lead actress playing Cathy. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/19 Full Review Audience Member Kind of jumps around a bit and is sort of... generic... at times, but the main cjaracters really made me feel for them. SPOILER ALERT COMING!!!!!!!!!! im not much for endings that are sad so that ruined it as well, but if you don't mind a movie that leaves you disappointed with the fact that the main characters don't end up together/one dies then you'll love it, some people like a movie that leaves them in tears Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member the fact that she killed herself bothered me this movie sucks balls Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member I was going to give this one star but then again I feel like for an LMN movie it set out to do what it was supposed to do. Wuthering High/The Wrong Boyfriend is supposed to be a modern retelling of Wuthering Heights and if you are familiar with the source material in any manner whether it's from an abridged version of the novel or a previous movie it is clear that some attempt was made to capture some elements of the original work, though in my opinion probably the least important ones. There was really a lot of wasted opportunities, far too many to point out but I will say the ending is really satisfying (spoiler alert: Cathy dies) It's nice that they committed to the ending and everyone got their just desserts. The sound track however was right up my alley and probably the best thing to come out of this movie. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Hilariously bad, so much so that I boosted my rating from a 1/2 star to a full star. It can be entertaining at times if you are amused by ridiculous melodrama, overacting, and bad plots. This is basically a non-supernatural Twilight with even worse acting, less substance, and even more clichés. Watching it felt like the longest 90 minutes of my life. Just when you'd think the film had reached its maximum absurdity and would end soon, it kept going and reached even further.
