DanTheMan 2
Greatly benefitting from a larger budget and its theatrical status, Ultraman Tiga & Ultraman Dyna: Warriors of the Star of Light ultimately plays like two TV series episodes cut together as a movie and less like the team-up promised by its title. Sluggishly paced but exceptionally well-directed the film does at least look pretty fabulous, Kazuya Konaka did a great job here while Tatsumi Yano's music is as great as it has always been. The model and practical effects work is marvellous and looks tremendous in the widescreen format, although the CG character work is abundant and extremely rough. The acting from its cast is solid, but like the show, I still haven't gelled with Asuka's character as a protagonist, even if this film largely focuses on his inner turmoil and occasional suicidal thoughts. The Tiga aspect of this film is more set dressing than anything else, with the titular Ultra only showing up during the climax but conspicuously missing his host, Daigo. While it is lovely to see most of the cast of the GUTS squad again, the conspicuous absence of Hiroshi Nagano doesn't make the reunion feel authentic. Ultimately, I wish the story for this one was better, there's a lot of good stuff in here but it just fails to stick the landing.

My Review
This is based off a kids show, a Japanese children s show to be more exact. I have not watched any episodes show cause while they might be at my disposal on the internet I just don't have the time to watch God know's how many episodes so I just skip to the movies. The first movie I saw was Japanese with no subtitles so I got lost and bored. But I decide to also look for one's in English dub, and there were a few that were in that format so I saved them.
I decided to go with Ultraman The next because well it looked the coolest. I started watching and as the movie went on it made more sense along the way. In the opening sequence of the picture we see a giant mutant monster who is escaping a base of some sort. We cut to Shun Uci who is flying an airplane with his army pals and he goes through a red power source of some sort, which is were we see Ultraman.
The way the film introduces him being Ultraman is very cool he is being used to lure the monster back inside the base to be destroyed. But while the soilders may think it's dead there wrong. Uchi breaks the door open and falls but gets back up and is changing. He turns into Ultraman and begins fighting the monster. At first when the woman see's that he protected her and still has human spirit she has him help her destroy the monster.
In the beginning of the picture I didn't like the dubbing, but as the film progressed it got better, along with my understanding of what was going on. The fight sequences were fun to watch but it is it me or do I think it would have been coller had the monster done more damage in the city before Ultraman showed up. Maybe that's a nitpick but other then that I give Ultraman next a four out of five.
