Kit V Even by 2013 standards, this film treads some very old ground indeed, a revenge plot that sees one hard man knock out an entire east London gang singlehandedly. Add to the fact that the said hard man belongs to an elite military organization and the usual daft police trying to capture him and you have a plot that even Michael Cain in his late period would have probably turned down over the fact that it is just not original. However, all is not lost. Danny Dyer is the saving grace here, even if the acting is pedestrian and slightly wooden he manages to stay in character and give a convincing if somewhat lackluster performance as the lead. The filming is of good quality with clear sharp images and the sound is excellent. The film does have moments of tension but it is the inability to really change gears into higher adrenaline-filled moments (a film like this needs such moments to remain plausible) that breaks the back of a potential hit and moves the whole thing closer to a miss. I liked the film and felt that it had great potential it just did not really deliver the sparks and failed to ignite my interest. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review andrew w This was a really decent movie, similar to death wish style movies, It has a few familiar faces from other brit gangster films as well. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Mindy S Free on Hulu! I thought it was a Good movie. I would feel every feeling the guy who lost daughter did that's 4 sure. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/31/22 Full Review Audience Member Childish. Might appeal to a sadistic 15-year-old boy with a terrible family background that has endowed him with a cruel streak and absolutely no taste for a decent storyline or credible psychology. Plot silly. Acting wooden. Violence gratuitous. Pointless revenge-porn. Ending open-ended! - as if anyone would want any more of this inept teenage drivel. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review andrew y Dyer, seems to be an easy target for ‘critics' to jump on a bandwagon and make themselves sound superior. He's better than that and this film is better than rated here. This is a very decent effort all round and we enjoyed it. Mark Kermode Observer (UK) I find it harder than ever to take Dyer's hackneyed hardman act seriously, which somewhat undercuts this low-budget Death Wish knock-off.
