Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless colonel (Woody Harrelson). Outstanding, I think they took risk by having maybe sillier and different type of characters but they landed on their feet. As the last film it's epic, well paced, the plot is maybe even more interesting and the visuals are even better.

Ultimo capitolo di una saga dal grande successo di critica e di pubblico che, almeno a livello di spettacolarità, non ha nulla da temere rispetto ai precedenti capitoli. Sicuramente resta di altissimo livello l'utilizzo della CGI e di ambientazioni sempre varie e differenti dal precedente capitolo; così come è differente il protagonista "umano" che però questa volta si limita ad essere un puro e spietato villain abbastanza anni '90 come mentalità. La sceneggiatura è sufficiente ma non eccelle, troppi sono i punti di domanda che accompagnano la trama e non viene adeguatamente introdotta proprio la storia del villain. Manca inoltre un vero protagonista umano, di cui si percepisce l'assenza soprattutto durante le lunghe sequenze comprendenti solo scimmie al suo interno. Anche le sequenze di azione, per quanto estremamente spettacolari, lasciano intravedere qualche grande forzatura che non si era mai notata in precedenza. Un pop corn movie di azione, che a livello di struttura lascia meno rispetto al resto della saga.
