      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Though it suffered from toxic buzz at the time of its release, Waterworld is ultimately an ambitious misfire: an extravagant sci-fi flick with some decent moments and a lot of silly ones.

O escritor e a imaginação merece todo parabéns. Roteiro e enredo muito legal. Vale apena assistir? Mesmo fazendo quase 30 anos, vale apena assistir. Nota: 8,5 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/21/24 Full Review Adam P Great film! Great idea! I would love to see more films explore this type of post cataclysm dystopian Waterworld. Costner is a perfect fit. Very underrated and worth a watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/15/24 Full Review Travis A Maybe a bad all around movie, but good for if your just sitting around playing on your phone. A bad sci-fi movie is still better than nothing and I've definitely seen worse than this one. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/04/24 Full Review Vladan S Great and so underrated movie, it is not for 5stars, but on this rating I don't wanna give less. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/24 Full Review Alec B No it doesn't really work but the movie isn't a complete disaster. The scope of the production is impressive and there are solid action sequences. If they'd spent more time on the screenplay and had a better lead actor this might have worked. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/05/24 Full Review Korben D One of the most underrated films of all time. Anton Bitel Little White Lies That Costner's antihero should be so fundamentally dislikable is entirely acceptable - after all, the Mariner's arc makes him an eternal outsider... - but that he should also be deadly dull is less so Jan 21, 2019 Full Review Dolores Barclay Associated Press Costner... is totally humorless and as dreary as the landscape he travels. And the uninspired and often inane dialogue in Peter Rader and David Twohy's script doesn't help. Jun 12, 2018 Full Review David Ansen Newsweek Waterworld is a pretty damn good summer movie. There, I've said it...it's a breezy, clever entertainment with stirring effects.
