Goofball comedy has police officer Tuba (Sammo Hung) is haunted by the ghost of David Chaing (star of 'Shaolin Mantis'). The only way to rid himself of this inconvenience is to avenge the ghost's death! A little slow on action at times, but very funny throughout.

Average movie with action, humor and ghost. David Chiang is a heroic cop who caught a thug. Sammo Hung, Stanley Fung, Paul Chun, Hu Feng are in the police band. Everyone bring their wife to his place for dinner and intro a tall girl to him. The guys want Sammo to tell lies about their whereabouts. The lies are too exaggerate and all left. Jacky Cheung become a police and is send to dispatch unit. A guy blow up a rich man car and extort him. The police want to send someone who don't look like police. Joey Wang is the new store manager. Sammo don't know and continue to do obscene charade to the cctv. He later explain what he actually mean. David want Sammo to pass something. Jacky follow him. The location changed. David is following Sammo and knock out Jacky. The baddies come out and David fight them. Hwang Jang Lee kills David. He want Sammo to revenge for him. Sammo screw up during a performance and is transfer out. David become a ghost to find him. Jacky help Sammo subdue a insane patient and is commended by Melvin Wong. He let Jacky become patrol officer and partner Sammo. Jacky act as woman to catch a rapist. Sammo like Joey and manage to date her. David show himself and want Sammo to avenge and keep pestering. Joey bring him home for dinner. David prank him badly and the parents think he is mental. Joey shoo him off. Sammo have to comply with David. The baddies call the rich man again. Jacky and Sammo follow. Yuen Hua manage to escape with the money. Sammo recognize the baddies and they fight. He is no match for Hwang. David pretend to possess him and he win on his own. Sammo apologize to Joey parents and get back together. David left him after the revenge.

This film may not feature such awesomely cool things like kung-fu mummies nor hopping vampires who would rather share opium with you than drink your blood, nor does it feature tons of amazing fight sequences and jaw dropping stunts that only Sammo Hung can pul off. What it does give is a police action, ghost story, romantic comedy all rolled into one that works within the context of Hong Kong cinema from the 1980s.

Sammo Hung plays Tuba, a lazy cop who just wants to play the tuba at ceremonies and have nothing to do with police work. When he witnesses a star officer get killed by baddies, he promises to avenge his dying comrade. When he doesn't do that, the star officer's ghost comes back to haunt him.
The biggest complaint of this movie is change of tone. It starts out as a quirky comedy, then gets violent and you'd expect it to shape up to be a gritty action flick. But then the ghost subplot comes out from nowhere and it turns into a comedy again, with it taking up too much of the story's time.
A few fight scenes near the end are decent, especially with Hwang Jang Lee and Yuen Wah as villains. Joey Wong is also always a pleasure to have in a movie.
Jacky Cheung is pretty funny, but this supernatural police thriller comedy isn't one of Sammo's better efforts.
