The star football player at Northwestern High School in the rough Miami neighborhood of Liberty City is a talented but troubled senior named Taurean Charles. A hard-hitting linebacker made tougher by the verbal, mental and physical roughness of his coaches' training practices, Charles has the potential to be a college football star and may even follow several of Northwestern High's previous stars into the NFL. But his academic troubles off the field could jeopardize what he's worked so hard for.

Audience Member A documentary about a kid who you won't like, who doesn't really do anything but play football and graduate high school. A MILLION kids do that every year. BUT, this kid is a jerk! His high school coaches should probably be jailed for some of the stuff they do. It doesn't inspire. It's not really entertaining. Why not give it a 0? Well, it does teach a little about the way some high school athletes are and the way some athlete programs are run. It's a stinker though. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member A rather good sports documentary which only suffers because of the player it focuses on. While we are intrugued by the team and the journey, Taurean is at times unlikeable. However it's true to life and that is also a strength. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Football's Hoop Dreams. Pretty solid. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member This is hands down the greatest movie since Hoop Dreams. 10 thumbs way, way up. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member this movie is so sick...every person that plays ball should see it!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member This documentary is excellent. Being from Miami, I know how big high school football is down here. I've witnessed dudes betting serious money on Optimist games. This documentary reminds me of Friday Night Lights but uncomparably better. It's a must see regardless of whether you like football or not. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
