Jessica Ritchey RogerEbert.com I need things like the fragile, pragmatic hope offered in the Angel episode "Epiphany," in which one character tells another "If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do. 'Cause that's all there is. What we do. Now. Today. Sep 28, 2018 Full Review Noel Murray AV Club I'm anxious for order to be restored in the universe of Angel Investigations, but I do see that this separation is serving a narrative function: to turn Angel's sidekicks into an accomplished demon-fighting unit. Sep 25, 2018 Full Review Julia Bianco Screen Rant Angel's second season brought some great moments, including the returns of Darla and Drusilla, the full introduction of Gunn to the team, the Pylea arc and more. Sep 29, 2018 Full Review Jake Meaney PopMatters It's not until season two that Angel finally begins to come into its own. Sep 28, 2018 Full Review Eric Goldman IGN Movies While some work needed to be done on Gunn and Fred (both would eventually become beloved characters), Wesley had one of the most fascinating arcs of any character in the Buffyverse. Sep 28, 2018 Full Review Filip Vukcevic IGN Movies Despite a slight bump in the road towards the end, the second season of Angel is one of the show's best. It's not just great television, it's great storytelling. Rated: 9/10 Sep 28, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member One of the best seasons of the show! Spell Binding. The Relationship between Angel and The Ultimate Femme Fatale Darla is Ingenious and deeply engrossing! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Delivering an extraordinary second season, Angel comes into its own as Buffy the Vampire Slayer comes to an end (on the WB). When Wolfram & Hart resurrect Angel's vampire sire, Darla, Angel becomes obsessed, causing him to drive away his friends and break up the team. The serial storytelling is especially well-done, developing a series of mini-arcs that lead into each other. And, the cast is beefed up with Christian Kane and Stephanie Romanov becoming series regulars (and the face of Wolfram & Hart) and Andy Hallett coming on as a new character who's connected to the Powers That Be. Additionally, there are more crossover events with Buffy, but they feel more organic than last season. Incredibly bold and daring, Season 2 of Angel is extremely compelling and action-packed.
