Before others staked a claim, there was one American family who stood for all that was spoiled, shameless and stupid. It's the Bellacourts, and as Rhode Island's first family of the Gilded Age, the insanely ridiculous, debaucherous clan have more servants than relatives, and days are filled with money, sex, drugs and more money. With nothing of substance to offer their fellow citizens, the Bellacourts are solely concerned with how they look, what parties they attend, and -- in the case of sisters Lillian and Beatrice, especially -- becoming super famous. Co-executive producers Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome star as Lillian and Beatrice, respectively.

Critics Consensus

Another Period benefits from a brilliant cast and clever concept that bawdily lampoons historic dramas and reality TV, though its premise may prove difficult to maintain over time.

Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald Comedian Natasha Leggero and the equally delightful Riki Lindhome (of Garfunkel and Oates) created and star in this surreal, reality TV-style mash-up of Downton Abbey and Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Aug 2, 2018 Full Review Sonia Saraiya Salon.com The dangling setup is both confrontationally mean-spirited and largely unresolved, in favor of some low-grade finger-up-the-butt jokes. Aug 25, 2015 Full Review Margaret Lyons New York Magazine/Vulture It's very funny and very odd, with production values reminiscent of Drunk History, and the same feeling of "Oh boy, they seem like they're having a really good time" that that series engenders. Jul 2, 2015 Full Review Emily Ashby Common Sense Media Another Period is as scintillating as it is irreverent in its blistering satire of both period dramas and reality shows. Rated: 4/5 Jun 26, 2015 Full Review Jon Espino The Young Folks This is nowhere near Comedy Central's worst comedy, but it has yet to reach the high comedic standard that has been established for it. Rated: 6/10 Jun 25, 2015 Full Review Rob Owen Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Gleefully absurd, Comedy Central's scripted comedy Another Period sends up period dramas (think: Downton Abbey) with humor reminiscent of Reno 911! or Monty Python. Audience Member BPR Review: Another Period (2013-2018). BRILLIANT. Cutting and ruthless in its commentary on modern society under the guise of America in the early 1900s, show creators and stars Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome pioneered what I think may be the absolute BEST comedy of the last decade you've probably never seen (or heard of, based on it initially airing on Comedy Central, but now viewable on CBS All-Access). Lindhome in particular deserved an Emmy for her performance as the outwardly ditzy blond, but secretly genius sister who has to downplay her intelligence in early-20th century aristocratic society. Kudos also to Jason Ritter, son and spitting image of the late John Ritter of Three's Company fame, and who inherited every ounce of his father's comedic ability. #anotherperiod #comedycentral #natashaleggero #rikilindhome #jasonritter Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review andrew f To quote Catherine Tate as Nan “What a load of old Shit!” Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I find this quirky and odd comedy very refreshing and different from the mainstream. The writing style and humour is superb as it creates a post-modern satire of 'The Kardashians' beamed back in time to Another Period! I think what I enjoy the most about this quirky comedy is that each of the characters, bring to the table... their own style and personality. It is easy to root for each of them and I can honestly say that I am looking forward to Season 3... more than any other anticipated series. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Brilliant farce...love it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Hilarious Downton Abbey parody. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Like the show, a few weak casting choices and some poor acting by a few of the minor characters. Really dislike the hip hop, wish they would stick with music that fits era. Natasha Leggero& Riki Lindhome are very talented and wish them all the best.
