Jared S Pretty darn fun and so easy to adore Akwafina. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/26/23 Full Review Jan V Season 1 was fantastic. Season 2 was great. Season 3 is very mediocre and doesn't have the "zing" the seasons before had. Why? Only Awkwafina knows, and Comedy Central probably. Oh, and if you want to go on holiday to Scandinavia, go yourself instead of making a boring episode about it so you can go for free. I am delighted and amused with almost every choice she makes with her voice and facial expressions, so this show is really fun for me automatically. Bowen Yang is also great, as is the rest of the cast. Beyond the talented cast, the writing of this show is beautiful and full of surprises. It frequently takes wild creative swings but it remains grounded and heartfelt, centered on characters with whom we really connect. It is full of vulnerability and sentiment without ever becoming corny or sentimental. Instead, it's sharp, wise, innovative and ultimately uplifting. I love this show and don't understand why it doesn't get more attention and praise. This show has a special place in my heart because it is in my beloved Queens, NY; however, it could take place anywhere. While Nora is a train wreck, of sorts, you can't help but adore her authentic approach to every situation. The supporting casts, especially her Grandmother, are fantastic.
