Richard Roeper Chicago Sun-Times Sheen is so good at playing himself, one envisions and hopes for an entire semi-fictional series with that premise. In the meantime, we’ve got a solid and funny comedy. Rated: 3/4 Dec 2, 2023 Full Review Brian Tallerico RogerEbert.com Maniscalco pushes his way through some awful writing in the premiere of “Bookie,” a half-hour of television that can be downright archaic in its sense of humor when it's not just lazy. Nov 29, 2023 Full Review Jonathan W. Hickman The Newnan Times-Herald “Bookie” is funny in a contextual way. Fans of Maniscalco won’t be disappointed, but this isn’t an overt sitcom. Rated: 7/10 Jan 26, 2024 Full Review Robert W. Butler Butler's Cinema Scene This is laugh-out-loud stuff. Jan 5, 2024 Full Review KT Mahe For Your Reference Podcast A sensational colliding of worlds mixing the blunt humour in Sopranos and what Tulsa King could have been. Rated: 4/5 Dec 19, 2023 Full Review Oti For Your Reference Podcast Bookie shines with dynamic chemistry between its leads, brilliantly capturing a veteran bookie's struggle in a changing world. Their interplay adds depth to this edgy and compelling drama. Rated: 4.5/5 Dec 19, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

I just couldn’t get behind the cheating, lying criminal characters. Each episode increasingly left me with a disgusted feeling, and I had to stop watching. Maybe it’s just me, but the show seems to glorify behavior I find genuinely despicable. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/21/25 Full Review Jonah V This is absolutely fantastic! A very hilarious portrayal of the gambling life without taking any authenticity away from it. The leads really compliment each other…. Let’s just say I know people like this in real life and these are the stories they tell. Great job by the entire crew. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/25 Full Review Chris K I thoroughly enjoyed this show. I actually laughed out loud at many of their circumstances and quick witted responses. Definitely better than a lot of the pathetic sit coms that they try to cram down our throats. Some other network should try to pick this up, but keep just like is. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/25 Full Review Kevin D Oh my God, let me count the ways how much I love this show. The two leads are spectacular, you gotta really look at their expressions. This is a very well filmed show with an incredibly endearing, sneaky, mean, sensitive set of characters. It's got all the great ingredients. Plus, lots of incidental murders. And Charlie Sheen!! Charlie Sheen! How about that?? He comes around! From his previous war with Chuck Lorre. I just wanna keep hanging out with these characters, and then unfortunately, the series season ends! I think this show should be 26 weeks long not eight episodes. Or at least 10. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/25 Full Review Karen R Funny show! The banter between Danny & Ray flows easily. Fun to watch all the twists & turns in each episode. Love all the cameos. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/04/25 Full Review Read all reviews
