Phelim O'Neill Guardian Caprica took to worldbuilding with great gusto, filling each episode with obscure cultural and religious references that mixed, matched and expanded on elements from the real world. May 17, 2011 Full Review Emily Nussbaum New York Magazine/Vulture Who knows how I'll feel about it by season three, but right now, I'm entranced. Mar 21, 2010 Full Review Ken Tucker Entertainment Weekly Caprica quickly assimilates you in a new world and then spins out a family saga that has far-reaching consequences for everyone in its universe. Rated: A- Feb 17, 2010 Full Review Alexander Joenks Pajiba Caprica may have been one of the best pilots I've seen since the "Battlestar Galactica" miniseries... Jun 18, 2018 Full Review Annalee Newitz io9.com Caprica may be starting off a little unevenly, but it's packed with such a wealth of great ideas that you won't want to miss a single episode. Apr 11, 2018 Full Review Dan Owen What Culture We need a significant change; a twist to make this story feel necessary and gripping, because at the moment there are independently compelling ideas and a remarkable universe to play around in, but not much holding the seams together. Georgan G What started out being interesting, took way too long to say not much. Might have been a good movie, but not enough there for an entire season. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/02/25 Full Review Fred N Too many plots jumbled together. The overall premise of a brilliant petulant teenager being the origin of sentient robots and the subsequent galactic wars is silly. Interesting take and visuals for VR world. Lots of gratuitous smoking. A waste of great acting talent. OK for Battlestar Galactica completionists, but otherwise superfluous. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/01/23 Full Review Toms c So under rated. This felt like the beginning of something special. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/11/23 Full Review Audience Member This show was so well-done and enjoyable. It's a shame they had to cut it short. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Best TV Series Ever. But what can u except from the creators of BSG. (my second favorite is prison break, then other bsg and rome) Technology from Caprica Series on is Already Here. Some of it was already there back when it was made. This show is now way more than relevant than it was back then. Forget all other scifi its waste of time unless u just want entertainment. And this is not even scifi...It's reality. EXCELLENT job with recycling actors only bsg staff can do this no1 else. And EVERY actor is so stunningly good they picked almoust unkown actors and everybody was a great success a hard thing to accomplish when making tv series. Every episode every scene is so full of DETAIL that to fully grasp this series u have to watch it 50times like u watched titanic when u was a kid lol. This is always on the list where ever u search for top UNDERRATED series ever and for a very good reason. But I Feel one season was enough. The second one would have been much harder to make sense of and to produce and fit in with the rest of bsg. Also remember to watch blood and chrome 2012 and razor 2007 bsg. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Brilliant series, ahead of its time. If released on Netflix today, we would've had many seasons to enjoy. Guaranteed.
