Bored with his success, celebrated mystery novelist Rick Castle teams with NYPD Detective Kate Beckett to solve the case of a copycat killer who re-creates murder scenes from Rick's novels. While solving the case, the two realize that their unorthodox partnership has its benefits and decide to continue working together. Combining his writer's intuition with her creative detective work, they investigate strange homicides in New York, all the while building a strong, if complicated, relationship with each other.

Sage Young Entertainment Weekly I don't understand why anyone ever considered doing this show without Stana Katic, because I could tell that Beckett had his number by the way she held herself as she spoke to him in his car. Apr 3, 2018 Full Review Robert Lloyd Los Angeles Times It didn't abandon Castle and Beckett to die holding hands on a kitchen floor, but left them happy, ever after. And though I know they are not real people, I am grateful for this canonical kindness. Apr 3, 2018 Full Review Ashley Bissette Sumerel Tell-Tale TV One of the things I always enjoy about this show is that Beckett is never entirely reliant on help when she's in danger, and for that matter, neither is Castle. There is no damsel in distress. Rated: 4/5 Jun 20, 2018 Full Review Laura Akers Den of Geek It's not exactly a secret that Castle's strength is its cast. May 9, 2017 Full Review Kevin Yeoman Screen Rant Given all that had transpired between the two over the course of eight seasons, it's reasonable to suggest that Castle itself was really a love story built inside the framework of a typical procedural. May 17, 2016 Full Review Christine Orlando TV Fanatic The opening murder scene had just the right mix of mystery and shock value without having to be gory. That's an art few shows can pull off, and I appreciate how well they did it here. Rated: 4.5/5 Sep 22, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

Michelle T This Last Season was awesome, so awesome that I wish they had more seasons. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/19/23 Full Review Bernice Rogers B Bring castle back I love that show Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/08/23 Full Review Alan M Not my favorite season but still good. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/22/23 Full Review Toms c Not the greatest ending but not terrible. Still the series remains strong. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/04/23 Full Review Basile B One of the best seasons in my opinion. It unfortunately ends way too abruptly and implicitly, though. Overall, I loved this series. Nathan Fillion is portraying a very relatable, lovable and hilarious character in Richard Castle and the relationship with Stana Katic's Kate Beckett is both interesting and fun. The other characters compliment the series extremely well and are all very endearing. It admitedly gets repetitive in some episodes but it doesn't affect the experience that much. There are no bad episodes, but some very good ones. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/16/23 Full Review jon c Well it's officially the 8th and final season of one of ABC's most enjoyable programs The final episodes of Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion as Detective Kate Beckett and writer Richard Castle Last season both of them finally tied the knot, Kate officially solved her mother's murder, the 3X killer was finally defeated, and Castle got his memories back after disappearing for 2 months and faced his childhood serial killer that inspired him to become a writer in the first place Most of all Kate officially accepted the position of Captain while also accepting to run for state senate Season 8 opens pretty heated when Kate inexplicably disappears and Castle is left in the dark A bigger conspiracy called LokSat with the CIA has everyone on edge but as long as everyone works together maybe they can combat the higher ups Kate and Castle hit an emotional barrier in their marriage and take time apart to figure out what's so important Kate feels guilty most of all keeping her husband out of the loop even to getting aid from his stepmother Gradually though the pieces start coming together about Castle's lost portions of time as well as Kate getting answers The final episode has both our leads finally confronting LokSat once and for all The ending feels victorious but also one of the most confusing conclusions I've seen I really haven't been this confounded since the end of 'Blindspot' Whatever the case I'm glad to have watched such a fun program full of murder, mystery, quirkiness, and amazing chemistry of two likable leads Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic made this show what it is delivering genuine thrills as well as crime novel-inspired intrigue Overall this was a great love story buried underneath a familiar procedural that I got genuine enjoyment out of It's gonna be hard to top this type of programming in the future Thank you so much ABC!
