Robert Lloyd Los Angeles Times It walks the line between shameless entertainment - hot guys, hot girls, the fires within, the fires without - and intelligent storytelling. Oct 10, 2012 Full Review Brian Tallerico HollywoodChicago.com It just doesn't connect on a realistic level like we need shows like this to do. Rated: 1.5/5 Oct 10, 2012 Full Review Robert Bianco USA Today Carefully remove every shred of originality or excitement, and you're left with that kind of well-funded mediocrity that marks so many broadcast series. Rated: 2/4 Oct 10, 2012 Full Review Susan Granger SSG Syndicate If you're looking for a series to stream, start here. This procedural drama is superbly written and addictive with an obvious emphasis on female empowerment, following the personal & professional lives of firefighters, paramedics & rescue personnel. Rated: 8/10 Mar 17, 2023 Full Review Jessica Johnson Time Out Chicago The heroics of Firehouse 51 are really something to behold, but if the rest of the show doesn't lighten the load a bit, viewers are never going to be able to sit through it long enough to see them. Jul 2, 2018 Full Review Ethan Alter Television Without Pity Oz's Eammon Walker and House's Jesse Spencer are among the men and women who populate the show's Windy City firehouse, where all sorts of bland personal drama occurs in between flame-fighting. I felt that it brought to life how hard firefighters work and how it can affect their families too.
