This long-running Britcom views contemporary relationships from the perspectives of several 20-something characters. Steve and Susan first meet in a bar where he has broken up with his girlfriend, the beautiful but comically unstable Jane, and Susan has just been dumped by her own boyfriend, Patrick. Surrounding their pivotal relationship, Steve's best friend, Jeff, fumbles his way haplessly though a series of clumsy relationships with women before finding his match in Julia, who is as socially awkward as he is, while womanizing Patrick begins a romance with Sally, Susan's best friend.

Mark Lawson Guardian These new episodes are a perfect example of the more benevolent form of second-season syndrome, in which the talent is given ever greater confidence and invention by success and the audience gains further rewards from familiarity with the character. Audience Member Coupling is one of my favorite sitcoms and it has great replay value. Season 1 is now about 15 years removed but it has aged well. Season 2 and season 3 are probably the best seasons but the show works best when you watch the show in order starting with episode 1 of season 1. As I have said in my season 1 review, if you are the type of person who likes shows like Married With Children and Two and a Half Men then Coupling will be down your alley. You have to be willing to invest in 2 episodes as season 1 episode 1 is mostly about introducing characters. If you like season 1 season 2 is a improvement.
