stephen m I don’t think I’ve ever decided to stop watching a ‘thriller’ two episodes before the end. Season 1 was passable. Whoever wrote Season 2 needs to find another job. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/21/25 Full Review rupert s Not only are the American accents even less believable than in season 1, but the British writers evidently have never talked to any Americans to learn how they speak. Dialogue is stilted, hackneyed and parochially London, which doesn't really work for Washington DC. Desperately incompetent, and with a plot that makes little sense, jumps around and generally makes you care very little. the lead actors are not strong enough to hold your attention or care about them. Such a waste of a decent premise Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Huge disappointment after season one. I like that females are in most of the significant roles, but is it that hard to get an original plot? Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member What a sorry mish-mash of a tale, after a reasonably solid Season 1. It starts promisingly with an attack on Special Forces soldiers in Mali that is not what it seems, but soon devolves into a jarring narrative salad of present-day Mali, Mali 2 years previous, present-day Washington, then 2 years previous. The script is both preposterous and amps up the melodrama whenever it can. The actors playing Miller, Amanada Jones and the Senator are given full reign to ham it up, and don't miss the opportunity. The Washington side of the story involving the Senator crashes the narrative into low gear silliness each time it appears. Merits to Lily Banda, who has a lot of screen time but nonetheless manages to present a believable character throughout this mess. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review hal g Wow... I can't believe how bad this show tanked. We went from a solid drama in the first season, watching Mark Strong use his particular set of talents to uncover what happened to his son, to this liberal mess of a show that needlessly jumps around timeframes to compensate for the lack of compelling plot. If you hate America you'll love this show because that's pretty much the narrative, the characters will regularly remind you of how bad Americans are. There's also plenty of tokenism to be had all throughout the show. Liberals will love this... anyone else, probably not. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member It was a very poor production in comparison to season 1. The fake american accents were so obvious as were the scenes supposedly shot in the USA. After this very poor season, Deep State has forever lost me as a viewer. There are so many high class TV series to choose from that it was highly disappointing, especially since season 1 was so good. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
