This fantasy series sees fussy angel Aziraphale and loose-living demon Crowley team up to form an unlikely duo. The two have become overly fond of life on Earth, and they are forced into forming an alliance in an attempt to stop the approaching Armageddon. To do that, they have to find the missing Antichrist, an 11-year-old boy who is unaware that he is meant to bring the end of days upon humanity. Michael Sheen, David Tennant and Jon Hamm star in the series, which is based on the book of the same name by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

A smörgåsbord of heavenly imagery and irreverent hilarity, Good Omens works thanks to Michael Sheen and David Tennant's very-nearly-holy (or maybe unholy?) chemistry -- though, at only six episodes, it's a rare adaptation that may have benefitted from being a little less faithful to the good book.

Kelly Lawler USA Today Adapted from a 1990 novel by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, the apocalyptic miniseries has a quirky British comedic tone. Nov 10, 2021 Full Review Carol Midgley Times (UK) The supporting characters, such as the two couples each raising a son (one the Antichrist, one not), were insubstantial and underpowered, and the part where the nuns bungled the swapping of the babies was dull and protracted when it could have been funny. Rated: 3/5 Jan 16, 2020 Full Review Katie Law London Evening Standard It's a show made in heaven, and hellishly good. Jan 15, 2020 Full Review Dev Shea 1428 Elm Six episode are just enough to tell this story (see that Game of Thrones???). If you have Amazon Video, watch this Good Omens. It is endearing and hilarious and it will make you want to read the book. It's funny and charming and very human. Jan 18, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Funny, charming, clever and sweet, this show is TV at it's finest. The writing, acting, costumes, and set pieces are all fantastic. Although I could go on at length about David Tennant and Michael Sheen as Crowley and Aziraphale, I also want to note the top notch performances by the many other talented actors, like Miranda Richardson and John Hamm. Love this show to pieces! I've now watched it so many times I know it front and back. Couldn't recommend more highly! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/16/24 Full Review Daia F This show is awesome! It has comedy and drama and the best cast! You will love it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/07/24 Full Review Lystra P Probably the closest adaptation to the book I've ever seen in my life! Brilliantly acted, wonderfully shot. It couldn't possibly been any better. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/11/24 Full Review Marvin W So good with writing and acting by all involved. Even as an every Sunday teacher for kids. God fears no questions or comedy. Great look at human dynamic questioning with God both good and bad as we go through our ying and yangs of life. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/29/24 Full Review dave p i had no clue what was in store.. i am vaguely familiar with Michael Sheen, very fond of David Tennants acting, so i had an open mind going in. the show is overall just hilarious, with underscoring the mass annihilation of all life on earth as a "side note" how crazy is that.. the humor is not Over the top slapstick, its thoughtful, hidden, sly, sneaky, but, still hilarious in its presentation Jon Hamm is well cast, as is Michael McKean. i was wondering if a Season 2 would EVER come, as i rewatched this several times, thankfully, we did get Season 2. I thought the ending was a bit rough around the edges, but, no spoilers,,its excellent, and better when i rewatched it.. . Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/10/24 Full Review SoMe R Light, humorous and clever writing with likeable characters. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/01/24 Full Review Read all reviews
