Lindsay Press Culturess Grey's Anatomy has never pulled punches and season 17 was a genuine example and tragic mirror of the state of the world during 2020. Jun 16, 2021 Full Review Alex Cranz Jezebel As Grey's Anatomy sought to shove as many covid-19 references into an episode as it could, I felt more exhausted than healed. Nov 13, 2020 Full Review Ani Bundel NBC News THINK Features one of the most coronavirus-centric TV plots we've seen since studios started filming again. The result is one of the most moving season premieres in the show's history, which after nearly two decades is saying a lot. Nov 13, 2020 Full Review Ashley Bissette Sumerel Tell-Tale TV Though the two-hour Grey's Anatomy Season 17 premiere largely focuses on the current health crisis, it still manages to offer romance, lighthearted moments, and an emotional surprise that no one could have seen coming. Jake L Trying to accurately portray something as controversial as COVID-19 while it was happening would be hard. Using it for 21 episodes got boring. And now all of what they were talking about has been proven to be wrong or partially true. Trying to use the storyline of COVID that soon after it happened made it hard to watch the whole season Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/26/25 Full Review dave d What a mess. We watch shows to remove us from reality and not thrust us into the thick of it. And this is the season Grey's jumped the shark! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/02/25 Full Review Vinicius D I love the series, but this was one of the worst seasons. The series has a very strong political view, but they lost the touch this season. They stopped worrying about the episode's plot and only focused on the political messages. That's a shame. I think this is where the series stopped being watchable. =/ Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/07/24 Full Review Audience Member The plot is so heavily focused on integrating covid 19 that it overwhelms the series, and takes away from what is usually an inspirational and moving plot. In my opinion, the worst season of the series. A pro of the season was the featuring of many of the beloved lost characters from previous season. Hopeful that the next season returns to the usual Grey's we know and love. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member This season absolutely sucked. They're ruining the show. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Greys anatomy is one of my favorite shows and I absolutely hated this season. I was excited to find out what happens after season 16 and tried so hard to make it through (TWICE!), but it's just so unwatchable. It's like all the writers and staff from the last season just quit. The first thing that struck me as off was the editing and music. Then the acting was terrible. Then the plot line sucked. They should've just not made anything and waiting until they could've made something better. I'm just going to pretend the show ended at season 16 Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
