Four years ago, Frank Taylor was a career police detective with a wife and young son. His marriage ended after their child was kidnapped and never found, and Frank now works as a private eye. A near-death experience results in his being haunted by lost souls from beyond the grave. Some spirits help him solve cases, but others cause him nothing but grief.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Haunted scares up some goodwill thanks to its pungent atmosphere and slick execution, but this ghoulish procedural's unrelentingly grim tone only serves to make its goofier aspects all the more glaring.

Bill Goodykoontz Arizona Republic An honest-to-goodness scary show... Scarier than it is smart, and that's not a knock against it. Feb 10, 2021 Full Review Hal Boedeker Orlando Sentinel Plays the painfully familiar topic of missing children for thrills, an approach that will leave many viewers queasy. Mar 19, 2020 Full Review Allan Johnson Chicago Tribune An eerie atmosphere permeates this supernatural series that is a good counterpoint to "Buffy's" comic action. Mar 19, 2020 Full Review Rob Owen Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Haunted is moody and atmospheric, but it's also filled with umpteen cliches, including the blind man who spouts Yoda-like wisdom Mar 19, 2020 Full Review John Levesque Seattle Post-Intelligencer The first episode is well-made, with good writing and the sort of exposition that illuminates without being obvious. Mar 19, 2020 Full Review Tom Jicha South Florida Sun-Sentinel There is not a darker, more dismal, less inviting new series on the fall schedule. Mar 19, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews
