Horace and Pete creator Louis C.K. uses his signature blend of awkward humor -- and brilliant performances from a top-notch cast -- to pull off an engagingly ambitious experiment in TV tragicomedy.

Eric Deggans NPR "Horace And Pete" is a signal to other performers. In a digital world, they can bring the right project directly to the people with quality and immediacy. Nov 26, 2019 Full Review Chuck Bowen Slant Magazine The series feels like a catharsis for its creator, an announcement of some yet-to-be-defined transition in Louis C.K.'s art-making. Rated: 4/4 Apr 25, 2016 Full Review Matt Zoller Seitz New York Magazine/Vulture Horace and Pete was more comfortable with silence than any TV show made during my lifetime. Its style demanded that you experience drama in a way that's anathema to the values of contemporary television. Apr 6, 2016 Full Review Alan French AwardsCircuit.com It is clear that C.K. is fascinated with the idea of bending expectations and pushing the boundaries of television in the process. Rated: 4/4 Oct 10, 2018 Full Review Lili Loofbourow Los Angeles Review of Books Let me say here that I have no idea whether Horace and Pete is good or bad. Aug 29, 2017 Full Review Rohan Naahar Hindustan Times Louis CK is one of the greatest thinkers of this age. The genius is at work. Let's take a leap of faith and observe. We could be in the middle of something special. Rated: 5/5 Sep 26, 2016 Full Review Read all reviews

Gabriele S Forget Louis CK’s baggage, this is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/07/25 Full Review TI H Funny, sad, disturbing, and very, very real. //////////// Update: I shouldn't have said "funny." It's not. Intense character conflicts, when presented through great dialogue, fills the audience with a need to laugh. This is a drama, one of the best I've ever seen. People relating to one another--and not relating--can create explosive conflicts that are more believable than the best of CGI effects can deliver. You can have your Tom Cruise and Mission Impossible. I've got Horace & Pete. And as far as acting goes, there's not a bummer in the bunch. Alan Alda is 100% believable as, as he put it, "the world's worst person." And who didn't fall in love with the girl with Turrets? And--you might not agree--Steve Buscemi is in his best role. Even better than Mr. Pink. ////////////// This is a show of social commentary. Don't watch it unless you're ready to feel something. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/27/25 Full Review A A I tripped over this series on Hulu, what an absolute rollercoaster. It feels more like a play than a TV show, but the drama is real. You really come to care about all the characters and their troubles. It's also full of great comedians playing dramatic roles, even Mayor DeBlasio makes an appearance. It's a real testament to Louis CKs range as a writer and actor Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/24/24 Full Review Gabriele S The most brilliant and daring tv I've seen in a long time. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/24/23 Full Review Elliot L Dark, tragic comedy which makes you laugh and cry. Grips you into the world of this awful little pub. Amazing cast too. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/07/23 Full Review pam c I am only 3 shows in, and am totally loving it. The 3rd episode is different from the 1st 2, that has the bar full of people. The 3rd is just Laurie Metcalf, practically doing a monologue, telling ex-husband Horace (LCK) her dilemma and it was brilliant. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
