The retained characters very much need to grow in some way. The Eliot character is a tiresome rerun often. Although the Breanna character is passable, too much is sacrificed by dropping Hardison for her. Sophie as the team leader misfires now and then. Parker's lines are a huge miss routinely. Harry Wilson is a successful addition. (2) A lot of harm is done to the villains. A lighter touch may work better. (3) The second season seems better than the first season to me.
