Niv M. Sultan Slant Magazine The series is too staid to capture the idiosyncratic, fiercely political spirit of its source material. Rated: 2.5/4 Oct 24, 2024 Full Review Owen Ziegler Japan Times Takeuchi is perfectly cast as Kazuma, a Jack Reacher-esque character of impermeable physicality. But the narrative structure of the show means we spend little time with him... Oct 30, 2024 Full Review Ash Parrish The Verge Like a Dragon is made better because it puts being good TV first over being a faithful adaptation. Oct 29, 2024 Full Review Bradley Russell Total Film Like a Dragon: Yakuza remixes the story of 2005's Yakuza to present a video game adaptation that capably stands on its own two feet – even if it jettisons more of the bizarre elements that have made the series such a success Rated: 3.5/5 Oct 28, 2024 Full Review Callie Hanna FandomWire Indeed, if all you really needed from a Yakuza adaptation is Kazuma Kiryu to show up in that iconic business suit and beat up some guys, then Like A Dragon: Yakuza does the job. Rated: 6/10 Oct 26, 2024 Full Review Mat Jones IGN Movies Interesting character portrayals don’t do enough to make Like A Dragon: Yakuza entertaining. It settles some curiosity to see the world of Kamurochō rendered in live-action, but it’s utterly skippable. Rated: 4/10 Oct 26, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/14/24 Full Review Gaming N i am a big fan of the games, and i thought the show was ok. alot of the fans are hating on any changes made, seeing them as a bad thing, but some of the changes are positive. it wasnt a great show by any means, but it wasnt anywhere near as bad as everyone said. but thats just the internet i guess Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/10/24 Full Review Audience Member A very bad show that completely changes the plot of source (Yakuza games), under the guise of "their own vision" Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/09/24 Full Review Noah J I love the games, so was excited when I heard about the show. And wow, did they do a great job of bringing the world to life! Obviously they had to make some decisions about the tone, and while I know aor of people wanted it to be sillier, I am really glad they didn't try to go that way. This isn't the game, and trying to get too cute with stuff would have made it less enjoyable as a show. The drama is spectacular and the action and performances are so good. I watched with my wife, who isn't a gamer, and she was just as into it as me. I hope they make more! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/07/24 Full Review maaz a the show is completely unfaithful to the game. i dont understand why they even decided to associate with the game series when this could have been an origanl series. they didnt get anything right. the casting, charachter personalities, the setting, story etc. my dissapointment cant be explained in words Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/06/24 Full Review Jasmin W It may deviate from its source material but it is very likeable in its own way.
