The worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division) employs an elite team of agents who investigate strange occurrences around the globe and beyond. Its members -- each of whom brings a specialty to the group -- work to protect those who cannot protect themselves from extraordinary and inconceivable threats, including a formidable group known as Hydra. The series is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and acknowledges the continuity of the franchise's films and other television series.

Ethan L I personally enjoyed the first season especially as it actually showed lots of the inner workings of SHIELD before it was destroyed. It feels very interconnected to the broader MCU. I would liked to have seen more storylines of SHIELD as a global organisation before the collapse of SHIELD. Off the bat, we are introduced to Skye, a hackivist from a group called the Rising Tide, Agent Melinda May aka The Calvary, Grant Ward, Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons. Together, the team begins investigating new threats as well as lingering affects from the Centauri attack as well as the aftermath of the events of subsequent MCU movies. Mid-Way, you begin to connect with this team and that is in part due to the perfect character development of each member of the team and you’re left with wanting more.
