"My So-Called Life" is a bastion of teen angst. Angela is a high schooler in constant turmoil over her exposure to boys, friends, drugs, sex ... basically the normal 1990s teen trappings. Many a plot revolves around Angela's crush on heartthrob Jordan Catalano.

Tom Shales Washington Post There is a certain pretentious artiness to the new series, as there was to thirtysomething, but the characters have life and authenticity; they seem really to live and breathe, at least for one vital hour each week Aug 16, 2023 Full Review Gail Pennington St. Louis Post-Dispatch Parents may want to watch with their kids -- if they'll let you. You may find yourself a little shocked, or a bit embarrassed, but you'll certainly find that you have lots to talk about. Aug 16, 2023 Full Review Marvin Kitman Newsday Yes, it's a little on the not-so-sunny side of the street. But Holzman's bittersweet humor added to the relative honesty makes My So-Called Life a charming and irresistible mixture. Rated: 4/4 Aug 16, 2023 Full Review Deborah Wilker South Florida Sun-Sentinel If the gloss of 90210 is all you know about teen travails lately, My So-Called Life ought to be a requirement. Sep 8, 2023 Full Review Elvis Mitchell Spin The show is an achievement though, with a depth and breadth that suggests Holzman, Zwick, and Herskovitz have an enormous understanding of the protagonist's world and all of her heartaches. If it's the place for you, you won't find a better rendering. Sep 8, 2023 Full Review Jennifer L. Stevenson Tampa Bay Times My So-Called Life is real. Sweetly, painfully, mesmerizingly real. Real life. Real good. Don't miss this one. Rated: A Aug 16, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member I only seen this show once, and I would probably reccomend it to others. I thought that it was alright, not as good as Party of Five or Beverly Hills 90210 imho. You can check out a young Jared Leto, Clare Danes and a young Wilson Cruz in this show. Sad that it was canceled after 1 season and 19 episodes though. Who knows where this t.v./series was to go if it stayed on the air longer. Some good episodes and some not so good episodes imho. I went with 2 stars fro this show/series. I heard that this show was in the same time frame as Friends, so it had low ratings anyways this was a alright show. Nostaglia from the 90's hits with this one as I remember this show/series from when I was a kid/younger back in the day 2 stars. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member A cult classic. I wish there'd been a second season. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member The one show I would choose if I had to watch one on a continuous loop indefinitely.
