Lucy Mangan Guardian My Kind of Country feels like it has a genuinely good heart and that, win or lose the competition, it will have done all the participants some equally genuine good. Rated: 3/5 Mar 24, 2023 Full Review Meredith Hobbs Coons AV Club It’s this spirit of shared humanity and mutual respect that makes My Kind Of Country something different, even special. Rated: B Mar 20, 2023 Full Review Polly Conway Common Sense Media A love of country music ties everyone together here, so families who appreciate the genre and great musicianship will find a cozy, highly watchable competition in this series. Rated: 4/5 Mar 31, 2023 Full Review Brett White Decider ... What’s beautiful about My Kind of Country is that it takes a genre that has a reputation for being discriminatory and focuses on — nay, celebrates — the genre’s universality. Mar 27, 2023 Full Review Amanda Guarragi Ready Steady Cut Reese Witherspoon had a brilliant idea to change the country music scene, and it worked well. She is using her platform in the right way to uplift other voices and help others achieve their goals and pursue their dreams. Rated: 4/5 Mar 26, 2023 Full Review

Andrew G Beautiful show, I only watch reality shows that lift people and I wanted everyone in the final episode to win. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/20/23 Full Review Benny C I loved this series, it opened my eyes to country music. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/17/23 Full Review Gabrielle R I was so excited to see this show assuming it would honor the Country Music world and the many different talented artists in that world. Instead it was a chaotic and confusing format, with uninspiring judges, and amazing talent from around the world weighed down by coaching them towards a more "Americanized" version of country music. Ended up being highly disappointed. Do not recommend. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/13/23 Full Review Anthony S First rate performances by artists that are not stereotypical country. This show helped me discover (rather re-discover) country music and see it as a genre that is inclusive, relevant, and transcends race and culture. Bravo to AppleTV+ for taking a gamble on it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/23/23 Full Review mike m So excellent and well done. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/08/23 Full Review AA A As a country music fan this show was awful. As a person of colour , even I felt that they were trying too hard to be politically correct. The country music industry no doubt has numerous issues, but there is a reason that the music itself has so many fans around the world. This show just felt like all they did was point out everything that is wrong with country music but really serve up musicians (some of them were great, no offence to them) who really are not country music! they may as well have been on American idol or the voice etc. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/08/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
