Based on The New York Times best-selling book by author Liane Moriarty, "Nine Perfect Strangers" takes place at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation as nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living. Watching over them during this 10-day retreat is the resort's director, Masha, a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies. However, these nine "perfect" strangers have no idea what is about to hit them.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

A less than savory return for the Psychedelics queen and her new posse of socialites places this second season of Nine Perfect Strangers into a definitive sophomore slump.

Backed by an ensemble including Mark Strong, Christine Baranski and Murray Bartlett, it's an interesting ride that balances the dramatic and bizarre in compelling ways. Go to Full Review

Slightly in spite of myself, I’m hooked again. Masha tends to have that effect on people. Go to Full Review

This second series, based on Liane Moriarty's bestseller, overflows with sharp dialogue, crammed with so many clever asides that in places it has the archness and pacing of a sitcom. Go to Full Review

With Agatha Christie vibes, David E. Kelley’s gorgeously produced show is top-notch silly fun Go to Full Review

What does a Nine Perfect Strangers follow-up that no one really asked for bring to the table? Outside of offering viewers a show full of hot, recognizable people on a beautiful getaway to half-watch while folding laundry, not much at all. Go to Full Review

Nalaya C @Nalaya Jan 13 It almost seems like Hollywood didn't want to shed positive light on plant medicine and its potential and therefore had to demonstrate its absurdity. It's very strange, considering that this was well thought out in the first series. It seems there was potential that was completely ruined in so many ways. Even the mistakes they made in references to various European cultures feels very disrespectful. Maybe that wasn't even the intent. Maybe it was just very sloppy work that Americans wouldn't notice anyway. Other than that the storyline makes no sense. It's all over the place. A lot of it truly seems irrelevant. Like they put these great actors and have them do improv on the set or something. I kinda feel for them. I'm sure this wasn't great for their careers. Because of the chaos, the scenes that seem deep and meaningful don't even have that affect anymore because that got ruined in the second episode. Albeit a bit far out - it captures your curiosity in a manner that allows nonsense to become entertaining. Nicole is brilliant in her Russian portrayal. The chaos is capturing and the characters are exotic in their drugged PTSD. Outstanding casting with captivating roles that are way out side the box. Binge worthy for sure! See more Aaron S. @Cessna38P Sep 24 So boring with psychological tripping scenes that are so bad. I found myself anxiously eating for each episode to end so we could watch something else. See more Lana T Aug 29 This was great nonsense to watch while I drank wine. There are no characters I love. I recall liking season 1, but this season was not for me. Christine Baranski is a good actress, but she had th stereotypical cougar role. I never finished the show so not sure if her daughter resolved her mother issues. See more lonely b Aug 28 What happen with the magic of season 1? This healing journey just transformed to a total bad trip. I had such a great experience, with subject like grief and forgiveness but now, it does feel like a total waste. See more Read all reviews
