The best chemistry I’ve ever seen on screen (or off, actually) between Ed and Stede—and among the rest of the crew. A rare show where each season has a distinct tone and yet each is equally exquisite in its own ways. Everyone is cast perfectly, from the leads to the English hostages and “magic man.” The guest stars and supporting cast who aren’t in every episode are also perfect—Leslie Jones, Fred Armisen, and Rory Kinnear especially. It doesn't get much better with Rhys and Taika on screen. You can see how much the cast enjoys being on set, you can see how much love goes into the costumes and the script. Rhys is HILARIOUS and plays such a sweet and earnest Stede Bonnet. Taika is amazing as Edward Teach (aka, Blackbeard), being both intimidating and vulnerable all at the same time. A lovely story about found family, second chances, love and finding yourself when you thought it was too late. This show makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside and I see myself coming back to it for many years to come.
