Steve Greene IndieWire Maybe it's a show that's still trying too hard at points, but it's easy to imagine that fans of "Outer Banks" watching Season 2 will find much of what they're searching for. Rated: B- Aug 5, 2021 Full Review Allison Keene Paste Magazine If you don't want to broach the issue of race here, then don't tie the treasure to slavery. But if you're going to make that link, you have a responsibility to actually talk about it and the implications. Rated: 4.8/10 Jul 30, 2021 Full Review Gwen Ihnat AV Club The real draw of Outer Banks is its sense of fun and outlandish adventure-like an older Goonies with more death-defying stakes attached. As someone once said, stupid things have positive outcomes all the time. Rated: B- Jul 30, 2021 Full Review Sarah Knight Adamson Sarah's Backstage Pass I'm enjoying the camaraderie of the teens and their problem-solving in working towards a goal. Be prepared; it's ultra-drama. Rated: 3.5/4 Aug 24, 2021 Full Review Kimberly Ricci Uproxx The way it's all packaged together, however, makes it slick enough that it's irresistible to all ages. Don't feel guilty if you feel a little too old for this show before you begin, because that bonkers mystery will keep you clicking. Aug 9, 2021 Full Review Paul Dailly TV Fanatic It was a compelling beginning to the season, and the fact that Terrence, Stubs, and Cleo turned on them came out of nowhere. Pie S A thrilling and exciting coming of age story. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/18/25 Full Review Jeddie G The second season was a really great continuation of the consequences in season one. Even changing some interpersonal and even romantic relationships made it feel fresh and equally expected but unexpected. The antagonists felt real and an ongoing threat for our protagonists. However, some of the moral choices the characters made... felt... not as fleshed out as the first season. Yeah, they are 16, but even at that age, some of the actions could have been done with maybe a few minutes or whatnot of deliberation. Either they were dealt with terribly or left me going "seriously?" Especially with Kie, a relatable character, some of her decisions are really questionable and just "she did this for the sake of it and doesn't want to commit.". The back and forth with all the kids parents began growing redundant; hopefully that doesn't get annoying in the third season. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/25 Full Review Jakey B A step up from the first season, the first few episodes and the last few ones are quite exciting, though some in the middle are bland and melodramatic. Feels like there was less adventure and drama in this season, but that did help in some ways as was more action packed with more attention to its now more likable lead characters. With many plots going on this time, I hope moving forward its more streamlined with less filler but for what this show is, this season is about as good as it needs to be and very bingeable. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/15/25 Full Review angela g This season was good but had some problems but without the problems this season was great. The acting is still great the twist and turns are good in this season. the romance between John b and Sarah is cute. The story was good watch this season as well great show. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/22/24 Full Review Red H This show just keeps getting better and better so enjoyable can watch over and over! Very relatable and the characters and cast are just fantastic! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/25/24 Full Review Audience Member I didn't think I would contnue watching but I did and got addicted again. Still pretty good. There were a couple plot lines a I thought were kinda stupid but overall it had the same intrigue as the first season. Rafe was the standout. THe actor that plays him does an outstanding job. Rafe quickly became one of my favorite characters even though he was tehniqally a villain in the series. 7-8/10 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/09/24 Full Review Read all reviews
