What to Know

Critics Consensus

Prison Break's second phase branches its inaugural season's focused narrative into a series of tangents on the lam, which may lose the interest of some viewers but does maintain the series' propulsive momentum.

Ken Tucker Entertainment Weekly Michael and Lincoln are incidental to the action, which would be an interesting narrative approach were these subplots not so silly. Sep 25, 2018 Full Review Matthew Gilbert Boston Globe More than is the case on many shows, its biggest thrills are plot based, with the writers trying to trick us as they pull the characters in and out of impossible situations. Unlike the plot twists, the acting has never been particularly distinguished. Sep 25, 2018 Full Review Emily St. James Slant Magazine If the first season of Prison Break was a mostly enjoyable guilty pleasure, its second season has been, by turns, uninteresting, unbelievable and unwatchable. Sep 25, 2018 Full Review Tom Gliatto People Magazine Now the show itself seems dizzy, as if reeling from a sudden, liberating intake of fresh air. The first two episodes are hectic, wild and disorientingly daring, with a couple of real jolts. Sep 26, 2018 Full Review Scott D. Pierce Deseret News (Salt Lake City) Prison Break has clearly run out of creative gas. What was a darn good show in its first season has deteriorated badly in its second. The drop in quality has been so precipitous that I shudder to think what Season 3 will look like. Sep 25, 2018 Full Review Kevin Carr 7M Pictures A solid, tense drama. Audience Member Absoloutely Incredible , once again, this TV show already is my favorite show I have ever seen , the plot in almost every episode you get are amazing and once again the writing is so smart that automatically braincells get added when I watch this tv show , jokes aside this is a must watch for everybody , honestly everything is incredible about this show so far. How come I haven't seen this Show before. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/30/24 Full Review Zach B Definetly a strong second season of the show, with a new narrative avoiding any repetitiveness that could be felt if another prison story were told. The acting this season remained good with it strengthening the season as a whole by taking perhaps slightly slower scenes and enhancing them with the classic Wentworth Miller cool and collected style he has mastered over the years. Overall, a new approach taken this season which turned out very well and although it did not show the events of a prison break, did do a masterful job of presenting the potential aftermath and consequences that one could have on many peoples lives. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/23/24 Full Review Benjamin H In spite of being less compact and sturdy than season 1, Prison Break Season 2 remains an engrossing, nail-biting and superbly paced follow-up that keeps its flow and tone completely in place while also developing almost all of its characters in incredible ways. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/24/24 Full Review Bob B insane. the plot thickens. honestly, this was better than s1 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/09/23 Full Review Joana R The second season was awesome.
