Jack the Ripper was a serial killer who butchered a number of women in and around the Whitechapel District of London in 1888. This drama begins about six months after the final murder, with now-peaceful East London hoping that the reign of terror is over. Among the hopeful are members of H Division, the police precinct tasked with keeping order in the district, including Detective Inspector Edmund Reid, a forward-thinking detective haunted by a past mistake that ended in tragedy. While trying to keep order in the chaotic streets of Whitechapel, Reid is soon drawn into the seedy criminal underworld of Victorian London, where each new murder elicits fear that the Ripper may be back.

James Donaghy Guardian One of those rare shows that has managed to get better as it goes along. Oct 22, 2018 Full Review Julia Raeside Guardian The real strength of Ripper Street, aside from the delicate brilliance of its writing, lies in the sexy Mount Rushmore that is Macfadyen, Flynn and Rothenberg. Aug 23, 2016 Full Review Jasper Rees Daily Telegraph (UK) Ripper Street has not given up on intelligent interrogation of the past, and this fourth turn around the fleshpots of Whitechapel shows few signs yet of dwindling energy. shubham s The weakest of all seasons. Except Start & End, everything else is just ..... unlike Ripper Street. Creators have tried to linger the story without any substantive plot. Surely the end will keep its grasp on your mind but overall you won't get satisfied. Just hope the final season is not a half hearted attempt from the creators. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The writers should be charged with the assassination of Rose's character. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I think all of the season are very well done. The story was outstanding, and my wife minced that show to! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Almost finished the 7 Episodes of Season 4 that were recently released on Netflix & every episode has been quality & as strong as the other 3 Seasons without recycling anything or having any "filler" episodes. Each episode feels fresh not a feeling of repetitiveness or borrowed bs from any other shows & I hear there's another season on the way. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Ripper Street gets better still big trouble for the heroes and villains of Whitechapel, new characters great story real edge of the seat viewing. Production values remain high though unavoidable loss of originalDublin location facilities shows. Acting dialogue and costumes wonderful. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
