"RuPaul's Drag Race" is a reality show in which a group of talented drag queens compete in challenges to impress host RuPaul, the world's most famous drag queen, to win a cash prize along with a crown and the title of America's Next Drag Superstar. Each episode consists of a main challenge, usually some form of performance or fashion design -- sometimes both. The queens then participate in a themed runway show, where one is declared the winner of that week, while two others are announced to be up for elimination. The bottom two must then compete to stay on the show with a lip-sync for their lives.

Tanner Stransky Entertainment Weekly Apparently the best queen was to come, and she appeared last night in the show's season 4 premiere: Sharon Needles. Mar 27, 2019 Full Review Georgia Garvey Chicago Tribune With all the subterfuge came a lack of authenticity... I hope Ru saw that, and that next season she finds a middle ground that preserves the mystery while also preserving the moments the audience really wants to see. Mar 27, 2019 Full Review Caroline Framke AV Club They're one women vamping machines, and the fact that they also manage to be some of the funniest characters on television is just a bonus. Rated: B Nov 17, 2018 Full Review Tom Fitzgerald and Lorenzo Marquez Tom & Lorenzo Take the show back to its dirty, sarcastic, low-rent, b----y beginnings. Trying to turn it into American Idol is a huge mistake. Mar 27, 2019 Full Review Alex Navarro TV.com Drag Race speaks to that same strange zone in my brain that derived so much pleasure from characters like Macho Man Randy Savage and Jesse "The Body" Ventura. TheRetroRanger 1 This season is one of the best, in my opinion. Challenges were great, runway looks were there, but terrible winner. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/28/23 Full Review Audience Member The breakout season which saw some strong queens with a fair share of meh queens but proved to be a solid season that truly launched the show. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member It wasn't the most amazing season, but a lot of talented, iconic queens are found in this season! Sharon Needle's win marks a bit fo a turning point to me. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Season 4 of Drag Race is interesting, because while the queens aren't necessarily fantastic in the challenges or on the runway, they're generally amazing lipsyncers with enormous personalities. As a result, season 4 has some of the series's best reality TV moments. There are some major twists in this season which feel well executed, and lead to a satisfying ending.
